A native of Lunenburg County, Virginia, Phil earned a bachelor's degree in Industrial & Systems Engineering from Georgia Tech in 1981. At Georgia Tech, Phil has served as a member of the Alumni Association Board of Trustees and Industrial & Systems Engineering Alumni Advisory Board. In 1996, Phil became a member of the Georgia Tech Council of Outstanding Young Engineering Alumni.

Phil Gee is a retired operations and supply chain executive. He worked in a variety of roles during his 30 years with Reynolds American in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Some of these roles included Production Manager, Human Resources Manager, Sr. Director of Global Transportation and Finished Goods Distribution, and lastly President of Lane Limited (a Reynolds America subsidiary for manufacturing piped tobacco & cigars). Following the sale of the Lane Limited division to Scandinavian Tobacco Group, Phil was appointed to the position of Managing Director, Operations & Supply Chain by the new owner. Phil remained in this role until his retirement in 2014.

Having been diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 2015, Phil has become an advocate for making lives better for people with Parkinson’s and their care partners. He currently serves on the Parkinson’s Foundation People with Parkinson’s Advisory Council which helps to ensure that the priorities and programs of the Foundation match the needs within the Parkinson’s community. 

Phil attends the Central Oak Grove Missionary Baptisit Church where he serves as the Trustee Ministry Chairperson and community food distribution co-leader. Phil and his wife of more than 40 years, Julia, currently reside in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. They have two adult daughters, Megan Gee, Ph.D and Frances Gee, MS.
