Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers Workshops

The Student Success Workshops offered by CASE are designed to link the in-classroom experience with supplementary support that will not only improve student performance in the classroom, but also prepare them for when they graduate from Georgia Tech. CASE currently provides workshops for both academic and professional success but remains committed to identifying additional areas where students need further support through student responses. During the 2020-21 academic year, the Center offered two virtual workshops in partnership with the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE) to ensure continued support during the transition to the online environment.
These workshops provide ISyE students with the opportunity to closely interact with ISyE faculty who can provide unique insights based on personal experiences. A continuity of guidance exists as students build relationships with outstanding faculty that continue outside the workshops.
How to Ace Your Exams Workshop
Both undergraduate and graduate students have the opportunity to hear from ISyE faculty on helpful techniques to succeed in class and during exams. The September workshop received an average response of 4.92 out of 5.0 when students were asked whether their student habits will improve after the workshop.
Soft Skills Workshop

The November workshop received an average response of 4.96 out of 5.0 when students were asked if they would feel more confident presenting after attending the workshop.
LatinX Workshops

The LatinX student-centered Town Hall was initiated to provide a space to discuss and improve the ongoing experiences of LatinX students at GT and the ISyE department. CASE hosts events with the aim to gather the LatinX ISyE student population to build relationships with each other and gain insight on areas to improve for a more inclusive environment.
BlackIE Workshops

The Black student-centered Town Hall was initiated to provide a space to discuss and analyze the ongoing experiences of black students at GT and the ISyE department. CASE hosts events with the aim to gather the African American ISyE student population to foster community, build relationships, and gain insight into the community's specific needs.
