I am a PhD student in the Machine Learning track of the Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISYE) department. I studied mathematics (major) during my undergraduate years and later earned master’s degrees in operations research and information engineering, and financial engineering. Most of the courses I took focused on mathematics, with some in statistics and computer science. I’m looking forward to helping students as a teaching assistant and sharing what I’ve learned in my studies.

Anjolaoluwa Popoola

Anjolaoluwa Popoola is 4th year PhD Student in Machine Learning at the H.Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering. She is currently advised by Kamran Paynabar. She received her Bachelor's degree in Mathematics with a minor in biology from the Lincoln University of Pennsylvania, and her Master’s degree in Operations Research from Georgia Tech. Broadly, her research interests include developing and utilizing machine learning methodologies and algorithms to solve prevalent challenges in healthcare and social welfare. Her current research focuses on glucose management, nutritional health and homelessness.

I am one of the MentIE Student Leaders and one of the cofounders of the Women in Industrial and Systems Engineering program. My hobbies include running, working out at the gym, exploring the outdoors, reading, and listening to different types of music. I plan to graduate in May 2027 with a concentration in Supply Chain or Economic & Financial Systems.

My name is Martin Svobodkov, and I am an ISyE Major specializing in Financial & Economic Systems graduating in Spring 2026. I am of Bulgarian decent and grew up in Cumming, Georgia. My hobbies include playing soccer, golfing, and I'm a huge motorsport fan. At Georgia Tech, I am part of the GTSF Investment Committee where I serve as the current Director of Continuing Education, and I also participate in the Intramural Soccer League. In the future, I would love to work in the financial industry either in Investment Banking, Equity Research, or Financial Controlling.
