Discover Industrial and Systems Engineering at Georgia Tech

The iExperience is a signature outreach initiative of the Center for Academics, Success, & Engagement (CASE) that introduces high school students to the exciting world of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISyE) at Georgia Tech.

Through immersive, hands-on experiences, students explore how industrial engineers solve real-world problems, improve systems, and create innovative solutions that impact industries across the globe. Whether visiting campus, shadowing a current student, or participating in our summer program, students gain an authentic look at life as a Georgia Tech ISyE student while learning about academic pathways and career opportunities.

Our goal is to inspire the next generation of engineers by helping students discover their potential and envision themselves as future Yellow Jackets.

The iExperience Journey

Explore ISyE at Georgia Tech

High school students and school groups are invited to visit the Georgia Tech campus for an engaging introduction to Industrial and Systems Engineering.

During the campus experience, students will:

  • Learn what Industrial and Systems Engineering is and how it improves the world around us.
  • Explore the H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering.
  • Participate in interactive engineering activities and demonstrations.
  • Meet ISyE faculty, undergraduate students, graduate students, and alumni.
  • Learn about student life, admissions, and opportunities available at Georgia Tech.
  • Tour key areas of campus and experience the innovation that defines Georgia Tech.

Students leave with a better understanding of the ISyE major and the many career opportunities available within the profession.

Shadow an ISyE Student

Students who are seriously considering Georgia Tech and Industrial and Systems Engineering are invited to participate in the ISyE Shadow Program.

This immersive experience allows participants to spend time alongside a current ISyE student and gain a firsthand look at college life.

Participants may:

  • Attend an ISyE class.
  • Shadow a current undergraduate student throughout the day.
  • Meet with ISyE faculty and academic advisors.
  • Learn about undergraduate research, student organizations, and campus resources.
  • Eat lunch with current students and ask questions about their Georgia Tech experience.
  • Explore campus through the eyes of a Yellow Jacket.

The Shadow Program helps students envision themselves as future members of the ISyE community while providing valuable insight into the academic and student experience.

Summer iExperience

The iExperience Summer Program is a week-long immersive experience designed for high school students who are interested in STEM and want to explore Industrial and Systems Engineering through hands-on learning.

Industrial and Systems Engineering is often called the "hidden" or "discovery" engineering discipline because its applications span healthcare, transportation, manufacturing, supply chains, sports analytics, artificial intelligence, sustainability, and countless other industries.

Throughout the week, students participate in engaging activities that demonstrate how industrial engineers solve complex, real-world problems.

Program experiences may include

  • Interactive engineering design challenges.
  • Supply chain and logistics simulations.
  • Disaster preparedness activities.
  • Sports analytics.
  • Artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.
  • Data-driven decision making.
  • Team-building and leadership activities.
  • Campus tours.
  • Visits to industry partners and organizations.
  • Conversations with ISyE faculty, students, and alumni.
  • Information sessions about applying to Georgia Tech.

Students also strengthen essential professional skills such as communication, collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving while working alongside peers who share an interest in STEM.
