About

Katie Selbe is the Chief Operating Officer of BlueHalo, a national security engineering company focused on building capabilities in space superiority, directed energy, missile defense, cyber and intelligence domains. In this role, she is responsible for overall program execution and performance of the business sectors.

Selbe has more than 20 years of business operational experience, ranging from small business, large business to private equity backed middle market companies. Selbe has deep industry knowledge of national security markets and an outstanding track record of operational excellence, program growth, product development, and strategy. She joins BlueHalo from Alion Science and Technology, where she was the Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Cyber Network Solutions (CNS) Group. She successfully led the team to exceed all growth targets and diversified the portfolio by expanding cyber offerings. Prior to Alion, Selbe spent over 15 years at Northrop Grumman Corporation with increasing roles and responsibilities. She was an Operating Unit Director for portfolios spanning C4ISR, Cyber and Intelligence, where she oversaw all growth and program activities. She was instrumental in aligning the organization against customer priorities and establishing an innovative culture to drive business growth.

Selbe enjoys giving back to her community, especially in the areas of STEM education for women. She is a member of Women in Technology (WIT) and an active volunteer Mentor in the Mentor-Protégé program. She has also volunteered with the CyberPatriot competition and frequently teaches the Elementary School Cyber Education Initiative. She is also a volunteer at Technica Hackathon.

Selbe earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Master of Science in System Engineering from George Mason University. She also completed the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business Strategy Development Program. Selbe lives in Mclean, Virginia with her husband and two children.
